Rails deployment a solved problem? Just upload & it works?
A video says more than a thousand words, so just click on the video link below.
Is this for real?
Yes people, this is real! We at Phusion have been developing this for a while now, and it’s almost done. Currently we’re in private beta testing phase. Our beta testers include several Ruby on Rails core developers, and so far the feedback from our testers is overwhelmingly positive.
Stay tuned for more news!

Can you provide us with some benchmarks? How does this compare with Litespeed, Mongrel, Ebb, & Thin?
Thank you!

@Mike:
According to our own benchmarks, it seems to be slightly faster than Mongrel. Overall however, the performance seems to be pretty much the same.

Remember, Rails was built with pragmatism in mind, and Passenger was built with the same intent… If anything, we perfectly complement Rails with Passenger, and I really don’t understand what the big fuss is all about, i.e. I never thought that the possibility of bringing Rails to a greater amount of people would actually be considered to be a bad thing. Regardless of that, Passenger simplifies deployment a _great_ deal, so if not for them (i.e. Railz0rs), it’s for your own personal leasure/sanity
Well, maybe it’s time for people who feel that way to move to technologies e.g. J2EE then
