Twubuntu Campusnet Config Tool
About Twubuntu
Connecting Linux to University Twente’s wireless network (Campusnet) was not without a lot of trouble. The instructions that existed at the time I wrote this tool were very vague. Many people have tried and failed.
Twubuntu is an easy-to-use wireless networking configuration tool for Campusnet, designed for Ubuntu. This tool aims to make connecting to Campusnet as easy as possible.

Troubleshooting & FAQ
“Twubuntu says it successfully connected to Campusnet, but I can’t access the Internet at all! This happens sometimes, but not always.”
Click on the Twubuntu status icon and click “Reconnect” in the popup menu.
If that doesn’t work, then that might be because you entered the incorrect password. Please click on the status icon and choose “Settings”, re-enter your password, and click OK. Twubuntu will then reconnect to Campusnet with the new password.
“In the past I have tried to setup wpa_supplicant.conf, as per SNT’s instructions. Twubuntu doesn’t work, and I think that might be the reason. What can I do?”
Please follow these instructions:
- Start Twubuntu.
- If you see the Account Settings dialog, go to step 4.
- Click on the Twubuntu status icon and click Settings.
- Enter your username (must be in the form of “s123456789@utwente.nl”) and password, and &115;elect a network interface and driver.
- Make sure “Reset wireless network configurations (wpa_supplicant.conf)” is checked.
- Click OK.
Twubuntu should now work.
“Does this work on non-Ubuntu distributions?”
It may work on Debian. I don’t know whether it works on other distributions. I would gladly accept patches that add support for other Linux distributions, provided that they don’t affect Ubuntu support.
